Identifying Promising Policy Approaches to Childhood Obesity Prevention (Video file)
Across the country, innovative leaders are implementing promising policies aimed at enhancing community health and preventing childhood obesity, especially among populations hardest hit by the epidemic. Collaborative partnerships designed to develop local health and wellness policies, and to spur legislation at the state and federal level, are central to these efforts. This panel explores the promising partnerships, policy tools and school wellness initiatives that are currently being implemented in the field. Eliminating racial health disparities and developing leaders for policy change are also highlighted.
